TAPIA represents the leaders in public adjusting and related fields in Texas. Our members uphold and promote the highest standards in professional and ethical conduct. We are a respected voice for the industry in the Texas Legislature and Texas Department of Insurance.
All members get discounted conference registration, TAPIA news and legislative updates, use of the Association logo, and listing on the TAPIA website. Affiliate and Attorney Affiliate members enjoy increased visibility in the PA community through select sponsorship opportunities and participation in TAPIA events.

  • Public Adjuster licensed by the State of Texas.
  • Demonstrates that public adjusting as the primary focus of business.
  • Demonstrates practical knowledge of and compliance with Chapter 4102 (Public Insurance Adjusters) of the Texas Insurance Code, including Subchapter D "Prohibited Conduct," which defines the ethical and professional standards public adjusters must adhere to in dealing with clients, law firms, contractors, and others in related industries.

Nonlicensed Associate Member - $225

Affiliate Member - $1000

  • An individual, partnership, corporation, or nonprofit organization that directly supports the work of public insurance adjusters (e.g. accountant, business insurance provider, data professional, supplier, engineers, or other professional).
  • Not engaged in the practice of law.
  • Not engaged in the profession of public insurance adjusting.
  • Not licensed as an independent adjuster.
  • Demonstrates practical knowledge of and compliance with Chapter 4102 (Public Insurance Adjusters) of the Texas Insurance Code, including Subchapter D "Prohibited Conduct," which addresses the ethical and professional standards that define appropriate interaction with public adjusters.

Affiliate Member Application


Attorney Affiliate Member - $2500

  • An individual attorney or a law firm that supports the work of public adjusters.
  • Demonstrates practical knowledge of and compliance with Chapter 4102 (Public Insurance Adjusters) of the Texas Insurance Code, including Subchapter D "Prohibited Conduct," which addresses the ethical and professional standards that define appropriate interaction with public adjusters.

Membership Application and Approval Procedures
  1. Applicant completes the Membership Application available on the TAPIA website. Applicant must pay full dues (or a deposit, if paying in installments) when submitting the application. The amount of the partial payment is determined by the Membership Committee.
  2. The application is promptly referred to the Membership Committee for review.
  3. The Membership Committee:
    1. Reviews and validates the applicant's information, including:
      • Interviewing the applicant.
      • Interviewing references provided by the applicant.
      • Verifying license status with the TDI database.
      • Referring to other available data bases, as needed.
    2. Provides written notice to all TAPIA member firms as to all applications under consideration. (Note: Member firms have 10 calendar days from the date of notice to submit a written objection to any candidate to the Membership Committee chairperson.)
  4. If no objections are received from member firms and there are no concerns raised by the application review, the applicant may be admitted as a member by a majority vote of the Membership Committee. If any member firm objects in writing, the Membership Chairperson promptly refers the matter to the Board of Directors for a decision. Approval requires a majority vote of the Board.
  5. If a TAPIA Board member is associated with the member firm objecting to an applicant, that Board member will not vote.
  6. The Membership Committee Chairperson notifies the Executive Director when new members are approved. The director sends a welcome packet to the new member and updates all pertinent TAPIA databases, website, and other public documents with new member information.
